The following examples of LYC activities and achievements show the variety of work undertaken by youth councils in their communities.
Maroochy Youth Council has launched a new Strategic Plan. The plan will guide the activities of the youth council for the next 2 years and defines a clear focus of 'connecting with local young people'.
Charters Towers Youth Council hosted SPEAKOUT 2003, a 'get together' of youth council members from across North Queensland.
The Toowoomba Youth Council, in cooperation with the Toowoomba Youth Development Program, assisted schools in their development of the Selection Guidelines for the Mayoral School Achievement Medal and in their selection and nomination processes.
