About the Forums

Online support for your projects and ideas

Enter the forums

Participate in an online community of like-minded individuals. Generate's discussion forums are a place for people aged 15-25 in Queensland to discuss and share ideas related to organising and participating in community leadership, development, and decision-making activities.

The forums are here to:

• support young people that are involved in community leadership, development or decision-making
• support projects and ideas related to community leadership, development or decision-making
• encourage more young people to get involved in community leadership, organisation and decision-making
• share idea's about how young people can be (and are already being) involved in a leadership capacity in their communities
• develop skills and abilities
• enable networking
• inform young people of opportunities related to community participation and decision-making
• share knowledge and wisdom about the work involved in community participation and leadership.
  

What this forum is not so much about:

• Youth Marketing
  We consider advertising as spam unless it is a non-profit activity or has strong intentions of community development.
  
• Youth Studies
  The Generate forums are more for young people than for people studying young people. If you are interested in working with Generate, please contact us.
  
• Raising a concern with, or making a complaint to, the Queensland Government
  By using this forum you may find opportunities to voice your concerns, but we will not direct your messages to other government departments or Member's of Parliament for you. If you need assistance with raising issues, please contact the Office for Youth.
  

• Political dissent and argument
  While government or council policies are not taboo topics, these forums are provided to support productive and positive projects in the Queensland commmunity by young people. Political dissent and debate has an extremely high tendency to degenerate into argument in online discussion forums, and this kind of divisiveness is contrary to our purpose. Moderators will remove all posts which may be taken as inflammatory.

The Generate forums are moderated by members of the Queensland Youth Council and staff from the Office for Youth and the Queensland Government Gateway Team. If at any time you have a query relating to moderation or forum policies please contact Generate.
