Forum Policies

Rules, terms and conditions

In Generate's Discussion Forums you must follow these simple rules to keep the discussions safe and friendly for all users.

Please avoid:

1. Insulting, threatening, annoying or provoking another person.
2. Being hateful towards a specific group of people. These discussions are open to people from all backgrounds.
3. Swearing, using hate-speech, or making obscene, inflammatory or vulgar comments.
4. Breaking the law. This includes breach of copyright, defamation, condoning or promoting illegal activity and contempt of court (by making posts that could affect the outcome of an impending court action).
5. Spamming and advertising
6. Advertising. You can only post a link to a URL to support your comment.
7. Impersonating or falsely claiming to represent a person or organisation.
8. Posting in a language other than English. We don't have the resources to support multi-lingual discussion.
9. Invading someone's privacy. Please don't post anyone's personal details, including your own.
10. Posts that are not relevant or related to youth engagement in decision-making or community participation.

Moderators are monitoring the discussion forum at all times. If you break the rules, the moderator has the right to remove part or all of your post without warning. It is within the Moderators power and right to remove part or all of your post if it breaks the rules or raises concern of any kind.

You agree with these terms and conditions of use upon registration and log in.

If you repeatedly break the rules, you may be permanently prevented from posting. By proceeding beyond the login page you agree to abide by these rules and the terms and conditions of this forum.

Archiving postings

This site will automatically archive postings.Older and dormant discussion threads will eventually be deleted from the discussion groups, but the Department of Communities will retain copies of all postings.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify the Department of Communities against any loss, liability, claim, demand, damage, or expenses (including legal fees) asserted by any third party due to or arising from or in connection with your use of the Generate online discussion forums.

Release

You agree to release the Department of Communities from any liability for loss or damage howsoever caused arising from, or in connection with your use of Generate online discussion forums.

Copyright and intellectual property rights

You grant the Department of Communities royalty-free and irrevocable permission to reproduce, and the right to download and print any material that you post.
If you believe that your work has been used in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, contact the Department of Communities with a description of the work, its location on the site and a statement that it is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.

Data protection and privacy

The information you post to Generate online discussion forums may be collated, stored and used by the Department of Communities for government purposes.
